Fashion Uniforms Ltd - The People

Based in Papakura, FUL has one of New Zealand’s few remaining fully integrated onsite apparel manufacturing plants. The facility employs 26 manufacturing staff, 2 ½ warehouse staff, 8 front office staff, and incorporates the entire production process, from pattern making, through to cutting, fusing, machining, pressing and finishing. From a production capacity point of view, the facility produces an average output of 750 garments per week. But more important is the facility’s ability to produce one off garments for sizes outside of the norm and low volume production of items in order to reduce the warehousing burden of the uniform range.

In addition to FUL’s own in-house production facility, we have third party manufacturing relationships in Fiji, China and India. The primary difference between FUL’s third party manufacturing and that of other New Zealand businesses is the degree of control. Firstly FUL utilizes its in-house pattern making and pattern grading capabilities to provide prototypes and digitized garment designs to third party manufacturers. Secondly we source our own fabric and materials, so whether the garments are manufactured in-house or by a third party supplier, the manufacturing standard is consistent.
